Unaware that the Developers had initiated a flyer campaign with First Plan our intrepid campaigners ventured to the Parade on 12-Aug to meet with locals, spread the awareness and news about the development to the community. As the initial development was announced as a 'done deal' on Facebook (see our Timeline post) many residents not on facebook, or simply not in the right feeds, found out about the development (if at all) via the old fashioned village whisper network.
We want to generate better engagement and awareness of the development, its impact and some of the issues with the process to date. You may have received a similar flyer through your door as our team of volunteers have designed and delivered them around the village. Real locals trying to be heard, vs a paid marketing campaign delivered by a team who do not know our village, needs or business.
We had some great conversations with lots of disagreement with the proposal in out community, giving voice to many residents eager to talk about the risks and disappointment in the process so far.
